These 5 states collectively accounted for 50.4 per cent of the suicides reported within the nation. The remaining 49.6 per cent instances have been reported from the 23 different states and eight Union territories.
Uttar Pradesh, probably the most populous state with a 16.9 per cent share of the nation’s inhabitants, reported a relatively decrease share share of suicidal deaths, accounting for under 3.6 per cent of the suicides.
Delhi, the most-populous Union territory, reported the best variety of suicides (2,840) amongst UTs, adopted by Puducherry (504).
