The Noida Police on Tuesday stated they’ve arrested six members of a cyber gang which allegedly created faux web sites of D-Mart, Big Basket, and Big Bazaar and duped individuals of crores of rupees.
Through these web sites, the thugs supplied merchandise at discounted or low-cost charges as a way to lure gullible patrons, then throughout cost they gained details about their credit score/debit playing cards and used the main points to fraudulently withdraw cash from their financial institution accounts, a senior official stated.
“On April 3, the cyber helpline team of Gautam Buddh Nagar police arrested the six members of the gang which created fraudulent websites in the name of companies like Big Bazaar, D-Mart, Big Basket and duped crores of rupees from people,” Additional DCP (Central Noida) Rajeev Dixit stated.
The members of this gang are residents of Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddh Nagar, Dixit stated, including that the individuals duped by them are usually not solely from Delhi NCR space however a number of different elements of the nation.
Those held have been recognized as Vineet Kumar, Dhruv Solanki, Gaurav Talan, Salman Khan, Santosh Maurya and Manoj Maurya, the police stated.
The police stated they’ve seized three laptops, 4 cell phones, two debit playing cards, Rs. 11,700 in money and a Hyundai i10 automotive from the gang.
An FIR has been lodged towards the accused on the Bisrakh police station underneath Indian Penal Code sections 420 (dishonest), 406 (prison breach of belief) and underneath related provisions of the Information Technology Act, the police added.
