Veteran linebacker Eric Kendricks is transferring to a distinct staff than initially anticipated.
Despite agreeing to phrases with the San Francisco 49ers early Wednesday, March 13, the 32-year-old had an eventual “change of heart” and is now signing with their rivals, the Dallas Cowboys, in line with league insider Adam Schefter of ESPN.
During the 2023 season, Kendricks performed for the Los Angeles Chargers, recording 79 solo tackles, 38 assists, and three.5 sacks throughout 15 common season video games.
Kendricks was launched earlier this month on account of wage cap constraints. This transfer got here after he signed a two-year, $13.25 million contract with the staff forward of the 2023 season.

Before his time with the Chargers, the previous UCLA participant had spent his whole NFL profession with the Minnesota Vikings from 2018 to 2022.

Cowboys transfer reunites Kendrick with former head coach
The transfer brings Kendricks again along with Cowboys defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer, who beforehand served as the top coach of the Vikings for eight seasons, from 2014 to 2021.
Zimmer reportedly wished Kendricks to assist run his protection, and the participant himself expressed a choice for becoming a member of Dallas over San Francisco.
Kendricks is the Cowboys’ preliminary free agent acquisition of the offseason.
