As a part of the continuing observance of Animal Husbandry & Animal Welfare Awareness Month (Feb. 14 – March 13, 2025), the Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, A&N Administration, has launched an intensive Animal Birth Control (ABC) programme throughout the islands.
A significant marketing campaign underneath this initiative was carried out on March 4 on the Veterinary Hospital in Garacharma. The programme was inaugurated by Mr. Vetrivel, Ward Councillor of Garacharma, who emphasised the significance of accountable waste disposal. He urged residents to chorus from discarding kitchen waste together with sharp objects in plastic luggage, as stray livestock usually eat such waste, posing critical well being dangers.
