BJP Calls for Fast Resumption of Service of Nalanda and Sindhu Vessels to North and Middle Andaman and Mainland Cities

The Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, has demanded the speedy resumption of the providers of the Nalanda and Sindhu vessels for the North and Middle Andaman District and for mainland cities similar to Chennai, Visakhapatnam, and Kolkata. This demand comes following mounting requests from most of the people and public representatives.

BJP State President Mr. Ajoy Bairagi, in a letter dated fifteenth April 2025, highlighted the intense difficulties confronted by the residents of Diglipur and Mayabunder because of the unilateral discontinuation of the important providers of the Nalanda and Sindhu vessels by the Shipping Department. He said that these vessels had lengthy served as a significant and reasonably priced mode of transport, significantly benefiting sufferers requiring medical referrals to G.B. Pant Hospital at Sri Vijaya Puram.
