District Planning Committee Assembly Concludes in Car Nicobar with Give attention to Inclusive Improvement

A two-day District Planning Committee (DPC) assembly was efficiently carried out on June 11 and 12, 2025, on the District Office Conference Hall in Perka (HQ), Car Nicobar. The assembly was chaired by Mr. Amit Kale, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Nicobar District, and held within the presence of Hon’ble Member of Parliament Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray.

The session witnessed lively participation from Chairmen and representatives of Tribal Councils from throughout the Nicobar Islands, together with the heads of 23 key authorities departments.

The main agenda of the assembly was the finalisation of the Annual Action Plan for the fiscal yr 2025–26, evaluate of the implementation standing of varied authorities schemes, and addressing developmental issues flagged in earlier DPC periods.

All 23 line departments offered their proposed Annual Action Plans together with Action Taken Reports (ATRs) on previous points, reflecting a dedication to transparency and accountability in native governance.

Tribal Council leaders performed a proactive position within the discussions, bringing ahead region-specific challenges associated to infrastructure improvement, public service supply, and livelihood era. Their participation contributed to a constructive and collaborative ambiance geared toward creating community-centric options.

Deputy Commissioner Mr. Amit Kale emphasised the necessity for seamless inter-departmental coordination and the well timed execution of developmental tasks. He assured tribal leaders that their real issues could be addressed in a structured and phased method by applicable administrative measures.
