A 3-day on-line refresher coaching programme was carried out from June 16 to 18, 2025, for Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) functionaries, together with Assistant Technology Managers (ATMs) and Block Technology Managers (BTMs), beneath the Union Territory Agriculture Technology Management Agency (UTATMA). The coaching centered on Farmer Oriented Activities scheduled for June and July 2025, as outlined within the accredited State Extension Work Plan (SEWP) 2025–26.
Organised by the Department of Agriculture, the coaching aimed to strengthen the data and expertise of field-level extension employees to boost the implementation of farmer-centric initiatives throughout the UT.
On the opening day, useful resource individuals from the Department of Agriculture delivered periods on key subjects together with the package deal of practices for sapota cultivation, multi-tier cropping and built-in farming methods, natural enter preparation and utilization, and the promotion of perennial fruit crops akin to papaya and banana.
The second day featured technical periods by the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services. Dr. Sanjali Soreng, Senior Veterinary Officer, led discussions on fodder cultivation and scientific goat rearing. In the afternoon, she coated subjects akin to demonstration of fodder and azolla cultivation, quail farming, and worth addition of quail eggs and meat.
The ultimate day centered on fisheries and aquaculture. Officers from the Fisheries Department, together with Mr. Nesnas E.A. (AFDO), Mr. Sanjeev Kr. Sutradhar (FI), Mr. P. Ishwar Rao (AFDO), Mr. Soumyadip Paul (AFDO), Ms. Jolly John (FI), and Mr. Sitanghsu Ghosh (AFDO), carried out periods on hygienic dealing with of fish, pond administration, security at sea, composite fish farming, and an introduction to mariculture.
Held solely in on-line mode, the programme ensured broad accessibility and participation. A complete of 27 members, comprising 22 ATMs and 5 BTMs, attended and benefited from the technical insights shared by topic specialists. The Department of Agriculture has additionally deliberate a follow-up subject demonstration coaching for all ATMA functionaries.
