In line with the United Nations International Year of Cooperatives, the Shanmuga Women’s Cooperative Society Ltd., Junglighat, in collaboration with the Office of the Registrar of Cooperative Societies, organized a tree plantation drive on June 29, 2025, on the premises of Government Senior Secondary School, School Line.
The drive was carried out underneath the theme ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’, symbolizing a tribute to motherhood whereas selling environmental sustainability and cooperative values. The occasion witnessed the presence of the Principal of Government Senior Secondary School, Inspectors of Cooperative Societies (Urban), and members of the Society’s Managing Committee.
Several saplings have been planted throughout the programme, reinforcing the message of collective duty in the direction of a greener and more healthy future. The initiative additionally aimed to encourage the spirit of cooperation in addressing world environmental challenges.
A consultant of the Society delivered the vote of thanks, expressing heartfelt gratitude to the varsity authorities, officers from the Cooperative Department, and all society members for his or her enthusiastic participation and help in making the occasion a hit.
