MP Bishnu Pada Ray Nominates Members to DISHA Committee for South Andaman District

Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, has nominated seven members to the District Development and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) for South Andaman District, in accordance with the prescribed pointers.

The DISHA Committee, chaired by the MP, is tasked with monitoring the implementation of varied Centrally Sponsored Schemes within the district. It capabilities in coordination with district officers, elected representatives of the Zilla Parishad, Municipal Council, and Panchayat Samitis, together with nominated members. The committee convenes as soon as each quarter to overview progress and handle implementation challenges.

The subsequent assembly of the DISHA Committee is scheduled to be held on October 31, 2025, at 10 a.m. within the Zilla Parishad Hall, South Andaman.

The members nominated by the Hon’ble MP are:

1. Mr. Adhir Das, Pradhan, Wandoor Gram Panchayat
2. Mr. Yaghambaram, Pradhan, Calicut Gram Panchayat
3. Mr. Ajit Kumar Roy, Pradhan, Govindnagar Gram Panchayat
4. Ms. Jyoti, Pradhan, Sippighat Gram Panchayat
5. Ms. Tapasi Saha, Pradhan, Chouldhari Gram Panchayat
6. Ms. Anitha Mandal, Panchayat Samiti Member, R.Ok. Pur
7. Mr. Sanjay Balan, Eminent and Prominent Social Worker
