International Sign Language Day Celebrated at GMSS Kamorta

International Sign Language Day was celebrated at Government Model Senior Secondary School (GMSS), Kamorta, on September 23, 2026, underneath the Inclusive Education element of Samagra Shiksha.

The programme was organized by the Block Project Office (SS), Nancowrie Block, as per the directions acquired from the State Project Officer (SS), Shiksha Sadan, with the target of making consciousness in regards to the significance of signal language and selling inclusion, communication and equal alternatives for Children with Special Needs (CwSN).

A complete of 27 members attended the programme, comprising 5 CwSN college students, 13 college students, one mum or dad and eight academics.

The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the In-charge Headmistress, Mrs. Jossey Zachariah. A welcome dance was introduced by the scholars, adopted by a welcome tackle by Mr. Naveen Singh, Special Educator.

As a part of the notice programme, Poster Making and Essay Writing Competitions had been carried out for the scholars. The actions offered a possibility for the members to precise their understanding of signal language, inclusion and the rights of individuals with disabilities.

Mrs. P. Muneera Bibi and Mrs. Ursila Beck served because the Resource Persons, whereas Mrs. Jaya Priya, PSRT, served because the Sign Language Interpreter, facilitating efficient communication and participation through the programme.

The programme was coordinated by Mr. Kushal Roy, Special Educator. The celebration concluded with an emphasis on selling signal language, inclusive communication and an accessible studying surroundings for all learners.
