The Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for Addicts (IRCA), ICDS (Tribal Project), Nicobar District, organised a volleyball championship and zonal-level inter-school quiz competitions below the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA), with the theme “Aao Banaye Nasha Mukt Nicobar”.
The volleyball championship was held at Campbell Bay on October 16 in collaboration with the District Administration and Gram Panchayat, Campbell Bay. A complete of six groups participated within the event, which aimed to advertise sportsmanship, teamwork, youth engagement and a wholesome, drug-free life-style.
Mrs. Rameshwari, Pradhan of Gram Panchayat, Campbell Bay, attended the occasion because the chief visitor and emphasised the significance of neighborhood participation in stopping substance abuse. Shri Tanesh Indwar, Project Coordinator, IRCA Nicobar, highlighted the position of sports activities in partaking younger individuals in constructive actions and spreading consciousness about substance abuse.
As a part of the initiative, gamers took the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan pledge earlier than each match, reaffirming their dedication to a wholesome and substance-free life-style.
The zonal-level inter-school quiz competitions have been organised in collaboration with the Education Department, Nicobar District, for secondary and senior secondary college college students throughout three zones — Car Nicobar, Nancowrie and Campbell Bay — from October 14 to 17. A complete of 18 colleges participated within the competitions.
The quiz competitions aimed to lift consciousness amongst college students concerning the dangerous results of substance abuse, encourage wholesome life-style decisions and encourage younger individuals to contribute in direction of constructing a drug-free society.
Both initiatives witnessed enthusiastic participation from college students, youth and members of the general public, offering platforms for neighborhood engagement and awareness-building in direction of the aim of a wholesome and drug-free Nicobar.
