The Directorate of Information, Publicity & Tourism on 10 December 2025 organised a symbolic earthen-diya lighting ceremony at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose (NSCB) Island to mark a historic cultural milestone—the inscription of Deepavali into UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Earthen diyas have been illuminated throughout the island’s heritage constructions, reworking the environment right into a serene, radiant spectacle.
