Port Blair, Nov 24 (PTI) Arrangements are in place for one of many much-awaited conferences of the G20 Presidency, which might be held within the picturesque Andaman and Nicobar Islands on November 26, official sources stated.
It might be held at ‘Swaraj Dweep’ (popularly referred to as Havelock Island), which is a virtually two-and-half-hour sea journey from Port Blair in authorities ferries and personal cruises.
The delegates will attain Port Blair in a chartered flight on November 25 and the assembly will happen the next day, the sources stated. They will probably depart from the archipelago on November 27.
Considering its recognition and mesmerising pure magnificence, the G20 secretariat in New Delhi determined to carry one in all its conferences at ‘Swaraj Dweep’, the sources stated.
A collection of cultural occasions, consisting of conventional dance and music, have been lined up for the friends, who can even be served delectable native recipes, they stated.
The delegates can even undertake a tour of the Cellular Jail throughout their keep at Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the sources added.

“The people of Andaman are very excited for the event, and are gearing up to accord the delegates a warm welcome. Not only will this bring our beautiful islands on the global map as far tourism is concerned, it will also lead to a lot of developmental projects,” MP Kuldeep Rai Sharma advised PTI.
“I had written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, requesting him to hold one of the meetings in Andaman, and I am happy that it is happening now,” he stated.
Earlier this month, Indonesia handed over the G20 presidency to India for the approaching 12 months on the Bali summit.
