The Andaman & Nicobar Islands Institute of Medical Sciences (ANIIMS) celebrated World Anatomy Day on October 14 to commemorate Andreas Vesalius, extensively considered the Father of Modern Human Anatomy. The occasion was themed “Global Perspectives of Anatomy” and featured a collection of partaking lectures and discussions.
Dr. Chandra Okay.P., Dean (Academics), graced the event because the chief visitor, whereas Dr. M.Okay. Saha, Medical Superintendent, was the visitor of honour. The programme highlighted the continued significance of anatomy in medical training, its relevance usually medical apply, and the importance of voluntary physique donation in advancing anatomical analysis and studying.
Distinguished audio system included Dr. Abhilash Priya, Head of the Department of Anatomy, Manipal Tata Medical College; Dr. Bhavaniprasad S. M., Assistant Professor, GM; and Dr. Ashok Pal Gobind, Assistant Professor, Department of Anatomy, ANIIMS. Their lectures supplied useful insights into the evolving function of anatomy in world medical training, a press launch from ANIIMS said.
