During his maiden go to to Little Andaman final week, Mr. Anil Kumar Tiwari, State President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), was approached by a number of organisations and people who raised the demand for quick reopening of stone quarries on the island.
The delegations highlighted that because of the non-availability of stone quarry merchandise for a number of months, developmental works in each authorities and personal sectors have come to a standstill. They identified that though enough funds can be found with Panchayats and different companies, the execution of initiatives has been halted within the absence of important development supplies.
According to the locals, quarries earmarked in Little Andaman to be used by APWD, Panchayats, and personal operators stay non-functional, leading to a complete halt of development and developmental actions.
Taking cognizance of the problem, Mr. Tiwari wrote to the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, requesting quick steps for reopening all out there quarries to make sure the sleek provide of stone supplies required for infrastructure works.
Responding to the request, the Deputy Commissioner assured the BJP State President that the method of reopening the quarries could be expedited and accomplished on the earliest.
Expressing gratitude, Mr. Tiwari thanked the Deputy Commissioner for his immediate and delicate response to what he described as a “burning issue” affecting the event of Little Andaman.
