A Basic Life Support (BLS) coaching session was efficiently performed at BJR Hospital, Car Nicobar, in collaboration with the Fire Service Department, Nicobar Division. The initiative aimed to reinforce emergency response capabilities amongst healthcare employees and help workers.
Organised below the steerage of Dr. Grace, Medical Superintendent of BJR Hospital, and Mr. S.Okay. Vishnoi, Inspector (Fire), Nicobar District, the session was led by Dr. Mohammed Shafique, GDMO (Homoeo), together with Mr. S. Subba Raj, Station Officer, Fire Station, Car Nicobar.
The coaching centered on equipping individuals with life-saving abilities essential throughout cardiac and respiratory emergencies. Key elements of the session included Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), administration of choking and convulsions, and fireplace security measures. Practical demonstrations and hands-on workouts ensured that attendees might confidently implement these methods in real-world conditions.
Addressing the individuals, Dr. Grace emphasised the importance of well timed intervention throughout emergencies. “Basic Life Support is a fundamental skill that can make the difference between life and death. This training ensures that our team is better prepared to respond effectively in critical situations,” she mentioned.
Dr. Sahina Sameer, SMO at BJR Hospital, inspired the attendees to increase related coaching to field-level employees corresponding to ASHA and Anganwadi employees, additional strengthening the area’s emergency preparedness.
