Celtics Icon Paul Pierce Will get Brutally Sincere on Luka Doncic-Larry Bird Comparisons

Former NBA star Paul Pierce had a daring opinion relating to the frequent comparisons between fellow Boston Celtics legend Larry Bird and Dallas Mavericks star Luka Dončić.

During a FOX Sports’ “Undisputed” look with hosts Skip Bayless and Keyshawn Johnson, the 46-year-old was adamant that Bird continues to be higher and that comparisons ought to cease.

Pierce acknowledged that whereas Dončić stands out as the higher scorer and ball handler, Bird excels in capturing, passing, velocity, and basketball IQ.

“[Doncic] could win a championship this year. He’s on his way to being an all-time great. But we’re talking about one of the Top 5 or 10 players to ever play the game. Can Luka get there? Pierce additionally identified that Bird had already received an NBA championship by his second season within the league.

Instead of Bird, Pierce likened the Slovenian’s recreation to a different NBA legend.

“He’s probably like a European LeBron James. The way he can score, the way he can pass, the way he rebounds the ball, the way he controls the game… just a less athletic LeBron,” Pierce declared.
