The Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee President, Mr. Rangalal Halder, has raised severe considerations over the deteriorating situation of the highway stretch from Mithakhari Junction to Namunaghar Junction, urging the Andaman Public Works Department (APWD) to provoke pressing repairs.
In a proper letter addressed to the Chief Engineer of APWD, Mr. Halder highlighted the day by day struggles confronted by residents, commuters, and particularly school-going youngsters, because the highway has grow to be more and more unsafe following the reopening of colleges. According to him, the stretch is marred by giant potholes, damaged surfaces, and uneven patches, posing a major menace to two-wheeler riders and pedestrians.
“The condition of this road is not only causing immense discomfort but is also endangering lives. If not repaired promptly, it may result in accidents and health problems due to the bumpy rides and dust pollution,” Mr. Halder said.
