The Miami Dolphins will face a dilemma for the remainder of the 12 months as star quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s contract expires on the finish of the 2024 NFL season.
However, the 2 events seemingly don’t see eye to eye on phrases for the following settlement.
The group is reportedly unwilling to supply the 26-year-old “the market value” given to different quarterbacks who signed new offers with their groups, in response to league insider Jeff Darlington of ESPN.
“Based on my conversations, they are not in the Jared Goff and Trevor Lawrence ballpark, and that to me speaks volumes about where the negotiations are right now,” Darlington informed ESPN Live on Tuesday, June 25.

Tagovailoa continued his upward trajectory within the 2023 season, posting a passer ranking of 101.1. He led the league in passing yards with 4,624 and threw 29 touchdowns and 14 interceptions in 17 regular-season video games.
Jared Goff and Trevor Lawrence’s contracts
The supposed factors of comparability for Tagovailoa’s subsequent contract are the agreements signed by Jared Goff with the Detroit Lions and Trevor Lawrence with the Jacksonville Jaguars over the previous month.
Lawrence signed a five-year, $275 million contract extension with the Jaguars, together with $200 million in assured cash. The common annual worth (AAV) of Lawrence’s contract is $55 million, tying Cincinnati Bengals star QB Joe Burrow for the best within the NFL.
Meanwhile, Goff inked a four-year deal value $212 million, with the second-highest AAV at $53 million.
