A complete Earthquake and Fire Mock Drill was performed on the Directorate of Health Services (DHS), A&N Administration, according to the Chief Secretary’s directive to conduct quarterly mock drills throughout all departments. The train aimed to judge the division’s preparedness and response functionality throughout disasters.
The mock drill situation and motion plan have been finalized throughout a Table Top Exercise held within the Conference Hall of DHS. The session was chaired by Dr. Suja Antony, Director (Health Services), A&N Administration.
The drill started with a simulated earthquake and fireplace situation. Staff members promptly adopted the ‘Drop, Cover, and Hold’ protocol for earthquake security and evacuated the constructing to the designated secure zone. Section in-charges performed a headcount and reported any lacking personnel to the Incident Commander (IC).
The IC swiftly activated response groups to coordinate with the State Emergency Operation Center (SEOC – 1070), District Emergency Operation Center (DEOC – S/A – 1077), Emergency Response Support System (ERSS – 112), and different useful resource departments. Search and rescue operations have been performed for the lacking individuals, and instant first assist was administered to the injured. The fireplace tender and ambulance arrived on time, and the train concluded with the Incident Commander declaring an ‘All Clear.’
A debriefing session adopted, throughout which Dr. Suja Antony expressed gratitude to all useful resource departments, together with Disaster Management, District Administration, NDRF, Police, Fire, and Electricity, for his or her help and lively participation.
