The Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services (AH&VS), in collaboration with the Union Territory Agricultural Technology Management Agency (UT ATMA), efficiently concluded a six-week Farm School on Broiler Production coaching programme on October 17 at Govind Nagar village, Great Nicobar Island.
Commencing on September 12, the classes have been held each Friday with the target of enhancing farmers’ technical abilities in broiler manufacturing to enhance livestock productiveness and strengthen rural livelihoods.
The coaching was hosted on the farm of Mr. Abhijit Mandal, son of Supada Mandal, a beneficiary farmer from Govind Nagar. Participants have been skilled in key points of poultry administration, together with feeding, housing, illness management, and market-oriented manufacturing methods. Through hands-on demonstrations, the programme offered sensible publicity to trendy and sustainable poultry farming practices geared toward rising effectivity and earnings technology.
The enthusiastic participation of native farmers mirrored their rising curiosity in adopting scientific strategies for broiler manufacturing. The initiative additionally emphasised sustainable and domestically adaptable practices, empowering farmers to contribute to meals safety and financial resilience in Great Nicobar.
