The Block Development Office, Ferrargunj, beneath the aegis of the Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA), performed a one-day coaching program titled ‘Building Synergies Between Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) for Community Development’ on the CMTC constructing, Ferrargunj. The program aimed to empower elected girls representatives, Community Resource Persons (CRPs), and SHG members by emphasizing the significance of collaboration between SHGs and PRIs to foster sustainable neighborhood improvement.
The session was inaugurated by Mr. M.Okay. Hussain, Pradhan of Stewartgunj Gram Panchayat, who offered an insightful overview of the formation and evolution of SHGs. He highlighted the pivotal position of girls in decision-making and burdened how integrating SHGs with PRIs can considerably improve grassroots improvement.
Ms. Pramila Kumari, Zilla Parishad Member, Chouldari, inspired contributors to actively interact in decision-making processes and assume management roles inside their communities. She emphasised the necessity for ladies to take cost and contribute to the socio-economic development of their areas.
Ms. Deepa Biswas, Domain Expert (Livelihood) from the Directorate of Rural Development, PRIs & ULBs, delivered an in-depth handle on the significance of synergy between SHGs and PRIs. Her presentation underscored how a collaborative strategy can result in enhanced livelihood alternatives and neighborhood progress.
Adding a sensible dimension to the session, Ms. Taposi Saha, Pradhan of Chouldari, shared real-life experiences and success tales of SHG members. Through compelling examples, she demonstrated how SHGs have reworked lives by selling self-reliance and financial empowerment amongst girls.
The coaching offered an important platform to strengthen the position of SHGs and PRIs in driving constructive change on the grassroots stage. Participants left with a deeper understanding of the necessity for collective efforts to strengthen neighborhood improvement and guarantee inclusive development. (Story Based on PR)
