Acting on credible inputs, a joint group of the Mobile Squad Range and Garacharma Range carried out a search and seizure operation at a residence within the New Bimblitan space of Sri Vijaya Puram Tehsil.
During the operation, officers seized 0.6733 cubic meters (44.65 rmt) of Padauk sawn timber of varied sizes from the possession of the home proprietor. The raid was led by Mr. Hosea, Forest Ranger, RO Mobile Squad, and was assisted by Mr. Shyam Sunder Rao (Forester), Mr. Lokesh (Forester), Mr. Uttam Kr. Mistry (Forester), Mr. Susantu Sarkar (HFG), and Ms. Deviga (HFG), together with RPS Mazdoors.
The seized timber has been handed over to the Circle Office (HQ) Garacharma for protected custody, and a case has been registered underneath the related provisions of the Indian Forest Act, 1927.
