Gram Panchayat Laxmi Nagar in Great Nicobar has achieved the 2nd Position within the nation beneath the class ‘Self Sufficient Infrastructure in Panchayat’. Ministry of Panchayati Raj conferred the award to Gram Panchayat Laxmi Nagar beneath Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Satat Vikas Puraskar.
GP Laxmi Nagar is the southernmost panchayat of the nation. Mr. Prahlad Singh, Pradhan, GP Laxmi Nagar, Mr. Pradeep Kumar Singh, BDO, Campbell Bay, and Mr. Mohammed Jabir, Panchayat Secretary, GP Laxmi Nagar have been current on the ceremony held at New Delhi on seventeenth April 2023, to obtain the award.
Mr. Prahlad Singh obtained the award from the palms of Mr. Giriraj Singh, Union Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj.
The award is a results of the cumulative effort of Panchayati Raj Members of earlier tenures, current PRI Members, and officers.
The ceremony was additionally attended by different Panchayati Raj Members of Andaman and Nicobar Islands together with Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh, Adhyaksha, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman.
