The ICAR-Central Island Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-CIARI), Sri Vijaya Puram, in collaboration with ICAR-National Research Centre (NRC) on Yak, Dirang, organized a coaching programme on “Scientific Pig Farming and Piglet Distribution” beneath the NEH part of the All India Coordinated Research Project (AICRP) on Pig. The initiative, aimed toward empowering Monpa farmers, noticed the participation of 73 farmers from the area.
Dr. Mihir Sarkar, Director of NRC on Yak, inspired farmers to embrace pig farming, emphasizing that Arunachal Pradesh’s local weather is very appropriate for rearing pigs.
