New York Jets star quarterback Aaron Rodgers practically pursued the vice presidency of the United States, as he was certainly one of candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s prospects for a working mate within the 2024 presidential election.
However, the four-time NFL Most Valuable Player finally turned down the chance to be on the second-highest workplace within the nation.
Rodgers defined his reasoning behind the choice throughout a press convention after the Jets’ OTAs on Tuesday, May 21, held on the Atlantic Health Jets Training Center in Florham Park, New Jersey.
“Yeah, I love Bobby [Kennedy], we had a couple of really nice conversations, but there were really two options: It was retire and be his VP or keep playing. But I wanted to keep playing,” the 40-year-old instructed the media.
Kennedy selected lawyer and technologist Nicole Shanahan as his vice-presidential candidate as an alternative.
Aaron Rodgers had no restrictions in Jets OTAs
Rodgers was in full energy on the Jets’ organized crew actions, greater than eight months after sustaining a left Achilles rupture within the first quarter of Week 1 of the 2023 season in opposition to the Buffalo Bills in September 2023.
