“We’re doing everything we can,” Wilson stated. “The narrative outside the locker room is different than the narrative inside this locker room. I truly believe all the guys in this locker room have each others’ back. I got theirs and feel like they got mine.”
Jets use Namath feedback as motivation
Rather than get right into a phrase battle with Namath, the Jets are respecting his opinion and utilizing it as motivation to show the NFL nice improper, ESPN reported.
“Joe Namath was a great, great football player. He has every right to his opinion, and we have every right to prove him wrong,” Jets offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett quipped.
Tight finish feedback
However, tight finish Tyler Conklin admitted that Joe Namath’s feedback have been a bit harsh, though he knew the place the one-time Super Bowl MVP was coming from.
“I do understand the aspect of caring for the organization and wanting us to be successful and him being one of the greatest Jets. I do understand all those things. You’ve got to go out there and put a good product on the field… but I did think it was harsh. I think a lot of people could agree with that,” Conklin defined.
