Former American League MVP Josh Donaldson introduced his retirement at the moment after 13 seasons of taking part in within the MLB.
Donaldson introduced his retirement throughout an interview on the Mayor’s Office with Sean Cassey Podcast.
“There was a time at the end of the season where I felt really good where I was at and I wanted to try and give it one more go,” Donaldson informed Casey.
“Today is a sad but also happy day for me. I am going to announce my retirement from the game that I’ve dedicated my entire life around. It’s sad because I’ll be not able to go out and play the game I love anymore. But it’s also a very happy time that I get to be around the family and take the next chapter in life.”

Donaldson began his profession with the Chicago Cubs when he was drafted with the forty eighth choose within the 2007 Draft. During Donaldson’s time in Triple-A, he shortly rose as a promising prospect.
He broke into the Big Leagues with the Oakland Athletics, getting 34 plate appearances. But his greatest seasons got here with the Blue Jays, particularly in 2015, the place he led the American League with 122 runs, 123 RBIs, and 352 complete bases and gained the AL MVP award.
Josh Donaldson would go on to grow to be an All-Star with the Guardians, Braves, Twins, and Yankees.
Donaldson batted .142 in 33 video games for the Yankees final season. After the Yankees let him go on the finish of August, he signed with the Milwaukee Brewers and batted .169 with three homers in 17 video games.
He would now end his profession with 279 house runs and 1,310 hits.
