Twitter has not too long ago restored verification badges on a number of high-profile superstar accounts after eradicating the blue checkmarks from non-paying customers.

Elon Musk Admits Paying for LeBron James’ Twitter Blue
This transfer comes simply days after the microblogging platform culled the legacy blue checkmarks for non-paying customers, leaving lifeless celebrities’ accounts with out verification badges. However, as of Sunday night, Twitter had added posthumous blue checks to the accounts of a number of deceased celebrities, together with Kobe Bryant, Paul Walker, and Michael Jackson.
It stays unclear whether or not Twitter intends to revive the blue ticks for some or all celebrities, lifeless or alive, or if that is merely one other trolling stunt by Elon Musk.
Last week, Musk admitted to paying for Twitter Blue subscriptions for just a few celebrities, together with LeBron James, William Shatner, and Stephen King, who declined to subscribe themselves.
In response to a declare that “Some celebrities have been offered a complimentary Twitter Blue subscription ‘on behalf of Elon Musk,'” the Twitter CEO tweeted, “I’m paying for a few personally.” He later tweeted, “A troll, me??” together with a laughing emoji.
The elimination of verification standing follows a leaked memo of Musk stating that Twitter’s worth has dropped and is now value lower than half of the $44bn he paid for it in October 2022. Moreover, Musk has lowered the corporate’s workforce by shedding most of its staff, indicating that the variety of folks employed by Twitter has dropped to 2,000 from 7,500 as of December.
