Former Miami Heat energy ahead Udonis Haslem, who was LeBron James’ teammate in South Beach from 2010 to 2014, lately weighed in on the Los Angeles Lakers’ potential hiring of JJ Redick as their subsequent head coach.
During a visitor look on ESPN’s “NBA Today” alongside co-hosts Malika Andrews, Austin Rivers, and Brian Windhorst, Haslem expressed how Redick’s appointment won’t bode nicely for the purple-and-gold franchise.
“I’m gonna go ahead and say it. If it’s JJ, it’s gonna be a cynical locker room. You’re going to see guys that are gonna say, ‘Is coach going to do a podcast after the game with LeBron?’ You’re gonna have a cynical locker room of guys that are gonna side-eye everything JJ says. Cause they’re gonna wonder, ‘Is it JJ’s message? Or is it LeBron’s message?’,” the 39-year-old instructed the present.
Haslem refers back to the podcast “Mind the Game” by James and Redick, launched in March 2024. The podcast options an in-depth evaluation of performs and occasional tales from their time within the league.

The Heat legend later endorsed Chris Quinn for the Lakers’ head teaching job. The 40-year-old, at the moment a high assistant coach beneath Erik Spoelstra, has expertise working with James.
JJ Redick amongst high candidates for Lakers job
Redick, who now works as a sports activities analyst on ESPN and hosts two podcasts, has been named one of many high candidates for the Lakers’ head teaching place.
The 39-year-old beforehand interviewed for the Charlotte Hornets’ head teaching job, which finally went to Charles Lee.
Other high candidates for the Lakers embrace New Orleans Pelicans assistant James Borrego and Boston Celtics assistant Sam Cassell.
