Liverpool winger Luis Diaz has appealed to the ELN (National Liberation Army), the Colombian rebel group accountable for the kidnapping of his father, urging them to make sure his protected and unhurt launch.
“I beg that they free him immediately, respecting his integrity and ending this painful wait. In the name of love and compassion we ask they reconsider their actions and allow us to have him back,” Diaz pleaded.
The rebel group kidnapped each of the 26-year-old’s dad and mom on October 29 of their hometown of Barrancas, Colombia.
While his mom was rescued a day later, his father remains to be being held captive. Colombia’s President Gustavo Petro has mobilized all public forces to help within the search efforts.
“Every second, every minute our anxiety grows. My mother, my brothers and I are desperate, anxious and have no words to describe what we are feeling. This suffering will only end when we have him home with us,” Diaz stated after Liverpool’s Premier League match in opposition to Luton Town on Sunday, November 5.
The winger has missed the final two matches because of the state of affairs, however he was included on the substitute bench for the sport at Kenilworth Road.
