Sri Vijaya Puram, 16 April 2025
The Department of Sports has introduced a revised date for the upcoming choice trials for wild card entries into the Khelo India Youth Games (KIYG) 2025. Originally scheduled for April 12, the trials will now be held on April 19, 2025, at 6:00 AM on the Netaji Stadium Sports Complex, Sri Vijaya Puram.
The rescheduling was necessitated attributable to inclement climate circumstances and fewer registrations throughout the seven disciplines for which the trials are being carried out: Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Cycling, Swimming, Table Tennis, and Yogasana.
The chosen athletes from these trials will earn wild card entries to symbolize the Union Territory within the KIYG 2025, which is slated to happen in Bihar from May 4 to fifteen, 2025.
Interested members are required to report back to the Assistant Director (Sports), Department of Sports on the venue with all obligatory paperwork. The eligibility standards stay unchanged and embrace:
– Age Limit: Athletes have to be born on or after January 1, 2007 (Under-18 class).
– Age Verification (any two paperwork): Aadhaar Card or Passport, Matriculation Certificate, and Birth Certificate (issued on or earlier than January 1, 2020, by a Municipal Corporation or Gram Panchayat).
– Eligibility to Represent a State/UT: Submission of both a State Domicile Certificate or Passport is necessary.
Selection will probably be primarily based on athletes’ previous performances in worldwide, nationwide, state, or district-level tournaments held throughout 2022, 2023, or 2024. Preference will probably be given to States/UTs with fewer members within the earlier version of KIYG. Notably, just one wild card entry per occasion is allowed per State/UT, and athletes already certified on advantage aren’t eligible for wild card consideration in the identical occasion.
The Department of Sports has clarified that lodging will probably be supplied to members, whereas journey and day by day allowances (TA/DA) have to be borne by the athletes themselves.
For additional data, athletes are suggested to contact the Department of Sports and be certain that all required paperwork are so as on the time of reporting.
