The SARAS Mela 2025 continued to attract enthusiastic crowds on its fifth day on the ITF Ground, showcasing a vibrant mixture of cultural performances, rural entrepreneurship, and conventional craftsmanship from throughout the Islands.
The day’s highlights included a duet track efficiency by Loveleen and Paul from Nancowrie, an lively dance presentation by Kurundham NGO members, and a full of life dance efficiency by SHG members from Nancowrie. The distinctive expertise displayed by individuals earned appreciation from each guests and judges.
Throughout the day, attendees explored an array of stalls arrange by Self-Help Groups (SHGs) below the DAY-NRLM and different Rural Development programmes. These stalls featured handmade crafts, natural produce, spices, clothes, conventional meals gadgets, and varied island-made handicrafts. Live demonstrations and direct interactions with artisans allowed guests to realize deeper insights into native abilities and traditions.
Food stalls providing a spread of native and regional cuisines continued to stay a significant crowd-puller within the night. The momentum from Day 4 carried ahead, with the day before today recording gross sales of ₹2.4 lakh. SHG stalls remained on the centre of attraction with their various handmade merchandise, whereas the Food Court witnessed heavy footfall.
Among the taking part stalls, the West Bengal stall stood out with gross sales nearing ₹16,000, making it one of many high performers of the day.
The SARAS Mela will proceed till November 23, inviting the general public to help rural entrepreneurs and expertise the wealthy mix of tradition, creativity, and group spirit. (Story Based on PR)
