The much-awaited SARTHINI Scheme, an initiative aimed toward empowering girls via talent improvement and self-reliance, was formally inaugurated on Saturday at Govindnagar Gram Panchayat, Swaraj Dweep.
The scheme focuses on offering Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) driving coaching courses completely for girls, enabling them to realize livelihood alternatives whereas selling secure and impartial mobility.
The inaugural program drew enthusiastic participation from native girls, panchayat representatives, and officers from the Transport Department and RSETI, State Bank of India. Designed to encourage girls from numerous socio-economic backgrounds, the scheme seeks to reinforce employability in transport, tourism, logistics, and associated sectors.
The occasion was graced by Mr. B. Binoy, Deputy Director, Department of Transport; Ms. Debjyani Sikder, Samiti Member, Shyamnagar Panchayat; Ms. Mamta Mondal, Up-Pradhan, Govindnagar Gram Panchayat; Mr. C. Raj, Director, RSETI; Mr. P. Ok. Ummer Farooq, Chief Manager, UTLBC; and Mr. Ravisankar, Chief Manager, Lead Bank.
Speaking on the event, dignitaries highlighted that SARTHINI is greater than only a driving coaching initiative — it’s a step in direction of girls’s empowerment, gender equality, and financial inclusion within the islands. They expressed confidence that the scheme would create new avenues of earnings technology and strengthen girls’s position in group improvement.
The program concluded with an orientation session for the primary batch of trainees, who expressed pleasure and gratitude for the chance. (Story Based on PR)
