As a part of celebration, the Port Blair Science Centre organized a ‘Nature Study Tour’ for the varsity college students. Around 60 chosen college students from varied faculties in and round Port Blair had been taken on a research tour to Organic Horticulture Farm at Sippighat & Marine Interpretation Centre, Wandoor, a spot well-known for its flora & fauna.
During the tour, the scholars had been made conscious of sustainable agriculture practices that promote soil well being, cut back chemical use, and promote biodiversity. They additionally learnt about the advantages of natural meals and its impression on the setting. The Marine Interpretation Centre, Wandoor offered a novel alternative for the scholars to find out about marine life and the significance of preserving the oceans.
After the tour, a ‘Smell the Nature’ competitors was performed. In the competitors, Saksham Singh of St. Mary’s Sr. Sec. School, Bhatubasti, R Rajkumar of Ananda Marga Middle School, Junglighat and Manisha Bala of Govt. Sr. Sec. School, School Line stood First, Second & Third, whereas Abhay Pratap Singh of VKV, Lamba Line received the comfort prize. The occasion was organized in affiliation with the unit of Organic Horticulture Farm, Sippighat & Marine Interpretation Centre, Wandoor.
