The much-anticipated Sports Department Volleyball Tournament – 2025 for women and men formally commenced on seventeenth April 2025, on the Multipurpose Hall, Netaji Stadium Sports Complex. Organized by the Department of Sports, the match brings collectively groups from youth golf equipment, authorities establishments, non-public organisations, and native sports activities golf equipment.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Mr. Vikram Singh, Director (Sports), who attended because the chief visitor. In his tackle, he prolonged his finest needs to all collaborating groups, encouraging them to play with spirit and sportsmanship.
A complete of 25 males’s groups and 11 ladies’s groups are competing on this 12 months’s version of the match, reflecting robust enthusiasm and rising curiosity within the sport throughout the Islands.
Welcoming the contributors earlier within the day, Mr. Gyan Sheel Dubey, Deputy Director of Education (Personnel) and Controlling Officer (Sports), expressed his appreciation for the gamers and emphasised the significance of such occasions in selling a wholesome and lively life-style.
The match kicked off with two thrilling opening matches: Rage Spiker vs Green Krakers within the males’s class and Genesis XII vs Spike Queens within the ladies’s class.
The match will proceed within the coming days, with groups battling it out for prime honours on this annual sporting showcase.
