In a joint effort to advertise sustainable agricultural practices, the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services (AH&VS), in collaboration with the Agriculture Department, organized a hands-on coaching and demonstration program on the preparation of pure farming parts at Ferrargunj on July 14, 2025.
The program aimed to encourage farmers to undertake eco-friendly strategies to reinforce productiveness and scale back chemical dependency in farming. Ms. Padmawati, Pramukh, Panchayat Samiti, Ferrargunj, attended the occasion because the chief visitor. She was joined by Mr. A. Rajan, member of the Panchayat Samiti, and different PRI members from Gram Panchayat Ferrargunj.
During the session, Dr. Satish Kumar, Senior Veterinary Officer (SVO), defined the basics of pure farming and demonstrated the preparation of Jeevamrut and Neemastra—natural options identified to enhance soil fertility and pest resistance. Dr. Sunita Roy, SVO, briefed the members on the division’s ongoing efforts to popularize pure farming, whereas Dr. Subhash B. Palve, SVO, inspired households to rear at the very least one cow or buffalo to satisfy their dairy wants.
Mr. Ravi Sutradhar, Agriculture Officer, supplied detailed info on the components and preparation strategies for Jeevamrut and Neemastra.
The program concluded with a stay demonstration of the preparation processes. Farmers have been supplied with 2 litres of Jeevamrut ready on the Livestock Farm Complex, Dollygunj, and the Agriculture Department distributed Neemastra to all attendees. The session noticed lively participation from farmers, who raised queries that have been promptly addressed.
In her remarks, Ms. Padmawati appreciated the initiative and urged the Departments to conduct comparable coaching periods in different Panchayats. She emphasised the significance of pure farming in guaranteeing sustainable livelihoods for farmers.
