As a part of the month-long celebrations marking the 76th Van Mahotsav, the Forest Extension & Publicity Division (FE&PD) organized a Tree Plantation Drive on tenth of July 2025, on the premises of Veer Savarkar International Airport, Sri Vijaya Puram. The initiative aimed to lift environmental consciousness and underscore the essential function of timber in sustaining ecological steadiness.
Mr. Devendar Yadav, Director of Veer Savarkar International Airport, graced the event because the chief visitor. The occasion witnessed the lively participation of Mr. Ok.G. Russogi, IFS, Divisional Forest Officer (FE&PD), officers from the Airport Authority, forest workers, and staff from the division.
A complete of 140 seedlings have been planted in the course of the drive, symbolizing the collective dedication of the contributors in direction of environmental conservation.
Van Mahotsav, noticed yearly throughout the nation, serves as a robust reminder of the significance of timber and the shared duty of residents in preserving pure assets.
The plantation drive was performed underneath the general supervision of Dr. S. Dinesh Kannan, IFS, Chief Conservator of Forests (R&WP), and concluded efficiently with enthusiastic group participation, reflecting the true spirit of Van Mahotsav.
