The Chairman of the Campaign Committee of the Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee (ANTCC), Mr. TSG Bhasker, has written to the Chairman of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), requesting that the postponed Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) for the June-July 2025 session be performed within the month of September.
In his letter, Mr. Bhasker voiced concern over the extended delay within the CTET schedule, which he mentioned has created uncertainty and misery amongst aspirants from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Port Blair is the one designated examination centre within the Union Territory.
He identified that a number of candidates from distant islands had already traveled to Port Blair in anticipation of the examination being held within the common June-July window. However, with no formal announcement from the CBSE, many have been pressured to return dwelling after spending important assets.
“Any sudden or rushed declaration of the exam date could disadvantage candidates who must travel from distant locations. This could severely impact their preparation and performance,” Mr. Bhasker acknowledged.
To guarantee equity and provides aspirants enough time to plan, Mr. Bhasker has appealed to the CBSE to schedule the examination in September.
