Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry stays surprised by the departure of his longtime backcourt associate Klay Thompson to the Dallas Mavericks.
Despite his agency and longtime want to spend his complete profession with the Warriors, the four-time NBA champion hinted at a nuanced change in perspective throughout a current interview.
“I mean, I can clearly say I want to be a Warrior for life. It’s always been my goal, and I’m saying that sitting in this chair right now, but like you said, life, and especially life in the NBA, it is a wild environment, and things change quickly,” the 2022 NBA Finals MVP admitted in an interview with Yahoo Sports reporter Vincent Goodwill.
The two-time NBA Most Valuable Player is presently in Las Vegas for Team USA’s coaching camp for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
This is the primary time Curry has hinted on the risk of carrying a jersey apart from the Warriors’ blue and gold, as he has beforehand adamantly said his intention to stay in Golden State for his complete profession.
Losing Klay Thompson has not sunk in for Stephen Curry
Curry continues to be in disbelief over Thompson’s departure, given their thirteen-year tenure as teammates and extremely profitable partnership.
