At least 11 passengers sustained accidents when a personal bus, Anand Bus, overturned close to Austin-2 village, Mayabunder, on the evening of September 27, 2025. The ill-fated bus was ferrying passengers from Sri Vijaya Puram to Diglipur.
Following the accident, police groups rushed to the spot and instantly evacuated the injured passengers to Dr. R. P. Hospital, Mayabunder. Authorities additionally organized an STS bus to make sure the onward journey of these sure for Kalighat and Diglipur.
Of the 11 injured, 5 passengers with critical accidents had been airlifted to Sri Vijaya Puram on September 28 for superior remedy. The remaining injured are receiving medical care at Dr. R. P. Hospital, Mayabunder.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the mishap occurred as a result of rash and negligent driving by the bus driver, inflicting the automobile to overturn whereas negotiating a curve close to Austin-2. An FIR underneath related sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, has been registered at Mayabunder Police Station, and additional investigation is underway.
