Street Corner Meetings have been organized by Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee (ANTCC) on Sunday night at Dairy Farm Junction and Bhatubasti Vegetable Market in opposition to the curtailment of water and frequent energy cuts within the Islands. The assembly was held beneath the management of ANTCC President – Mr. Rangalal Halder and ANTCC Campaign Committee Chairman – Mr. TSG Bhasker.
The Congress leaders criticised the A & N Administration for not taking applicable measures from a few years prior to now for storage of water, even supposing water shortage happens within the Islands yearly. They expressed apprehension that the Rutland Water Project was carried out with out correct planning due to which water provide from Rutland shouldn’t be in a position to meet the present water necessities of Port Blair and different areas beneath South Andaman District.
Moreover, the Congress leaders alleged that the Administration didn’t take any crucial steps to unravel frequent energy cuts within the Islands which has brought on hardships for the Islanders since a few years.
The assembly noticed the presence of City Congress Ex-General Secretary – Mr. Saji Varghese, NSUI State President – Mr. M.A Sajid, DCC Member – Mr. Abdul Shabir, Youth Congress Ex-State General Secretary – Mr. Ansab Ahmed, Congress leaders – Ms. M. Bindu, Ms. Lipika Mazumder and a number of other others.
