The Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services carried out an consciousness programme at Government Senior Secondary School (GSS) Calicut on 1st December 2025, to teach college students and workers on secure practices round animals and the significance of compassion in the direction of them.
The interactive session was led by Dr. V. Subramanian, Veterinary Officer from the Veterinary Hospital, Garacharma. During the programme, he spoke on preventive behaviour round animals, first-aid responses to animal bites, the significance of well timed reporting to the closest veterinary or well being facility, and humane approaches to dealing with stray canines.
