A grand felicitation programme was collectively organised by the Integrated Tribal Development Project (ITDP), Nicobar District, and SAI STC, Car Nicobar on Thursday at Priyadarshini Hall, Tamaloo Village, to honour cyclists from Nicobar District who’ve excelled at varied National and International Championships.
The younger cyclists have introduced laurels to the district by clinching Gold, Silver and Bronze medals, inserting Car Nicobar prominently on the sporting map of the nation. Their dedication, self-discipline and constant arduous work have been lauded through the ceremony.
Mr. Amit Kale, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar District, graced the event because the chief visitor. He felicitated the medal winners with appreciation certificates and offered money incentives as a token of recognition and encouragement. Congratulating the athletes on their outstanding accomplishments, the Deputy Commissioner urged the youth to proceed striving for excellence and warranted sustained help from the District Administration for the promotion and improvement of sports activities in Nicobar.
The programme was attended by the Secretary of the Tribal Council, Village Captains, Heads of Departments and Heads of Offices below Car Nicobar, together with sports activities officers, coaches, dad and mom and well-wishers. Their presence underscored the sturdy group backing for nurturing younger sporting expertise within the district.
The occasion concluded with a name to the youth of Nicobar to actively take part in sports activities and convey additional laurels to the district and the nation.
