The University of Georgia claimed the highest spot within the AP Top 25 school soccer ballot launched Sunday, October 11, taking up from Texas, which fell six positions to No. 7 after dropping its grip on the No. 1 rating it held only a week in the past. The week’s most dramatic riser was Kentucky, which jumped from exterior the ballot completely to No. 15 — an 11-position climb that stands as the biggest single-week transfer within the rankings. UCLA was shut behind, surging 9 spots to No. 12 with an ideal 5-0 report.
At the opposite finish, LSU absorbed the ballot’s steepest fall, plummeting 12 positions to No. 22 and dropping to 4-2 on the season — a steep decline for a program that entered the 12 months with top-11 expectations. Oregon and Florida each fell out of the ballot completely.
Wake Forest and Northwestern entered the rankings for the primary time this season, arriving at No. 21 and No. 25 respectively, although the underside of the poll is skinny — simply 20 factors separate Northwestern from first-out Wisconsin.
