The Andaman & Nicobar AIDS Control Society (ANACS) has launched a particular Information, Education and Communication (IEC) Van marketing campaign to accentuate consciousness on HIV and AIDS throughout South Andaman.
The IEC Van, outfitted with a backlit glow signboard displaying key consciousness messages on HIV and AIDS, was flagged off by Ms. Vandana Rao, IAS, Secretary (Health), within the presence of docs from the Directorate of Health Services, officers of ANACS and different dignitaries.
Fitted with illuminated show boards and a public deal with system, the van goals to disseminate correct and well timed info on to the general public in each rural and concrete areas. The initiative seeks to achieve folks at their doorsteps and strengthen community-level consciousness on HIV prevention and care.
The six-day marketing campaign, which started on twenty fifth February 2026, will proceed until March 2. The consciousness drive is being performed every day from 4 pm to 9 pm alongside designated routes throughout South Andaman.
The marketing campaign focuses on educating folks concerning the modes of HIV transmission and preventive measures, selling the significance of well timed HIV testing, and highlighting the therapy and care providers out there for People Living with HIV (PLHIV).
Dr. Subrata Saha, Project Director, ANACS, stated the marketing campaign goals to advertise accountable behaviour, encourage early testing, and foster a supportive and non-discriminatory perspective in the direction of PLHIV. The programme commenced with a welcome deal with by Dr. Jahanara Yasmeen, Deputy Director (MS & IEC), ANACS.
