Aaron Judge is not going to be on the New York Yankees’ roster when the American League Division Series opens Saturday towards the Tampa Bay Rays, as a result of his strained proper calf has not healed sufficient, MLB.com reported. Game 1 of the best-of-five collection is scheduled for six:30 p.m. ET at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Judge sustained a reasonable pressure of the soleus muscle in his proper calf on Sept. 16 and was not energetic for the AL Wild Card Series, MLB.com reported. The Yankees swept the Boston Red Sox in that collection, successful 9-0 and 9-2. MLB.com reported that Judge is eligible to be added to the roster for the AL Championship Series if New York advances.
“Saturday is a long ways away,” Judge mentioned. “I’m doing everything I can — all morning, night, during the game, everything — to prepare myself to be ready to go. Yeah, I want to be in there. But we’ll see what happens.”
The Yankees’ 26-man roster consists of 11 pitchers and 15 place gamers, with left-hander Ryan Weathers added and Amed Rosario dropped from the Wild Card Series roster.
New York completed the common season 93-68 and held the AL’s high Wild Card spot. Tampa Bay received the AL East at 98-64 and received the 2026 regular-season collection towards the Yankees 7-6.
