Government Model Senior Secondary School (GMSSS), Goal Tekry, Kamorta, has launched the Arts Stream (English Medium) from the tutorial session 2026–27, marking a big step in direction of increasing larger secondary schooling alternatives for college kids within the Nancowrie group of islands.
The Arts Stream was inaugurated by the Assistant Commissioner, Nancowrie, Dr. Kshitij Gyanraj Sa, who attended the programme because the chief visitor. Addressing the gathering, he mentioned the introduction of the brand new stream would supply college students with wider instructional alternatives, equip them for larger schooling and future careers, and create new avenues for the youth of the Nancowrie group of islands. He added that the initiative would make a big contribution to the event of schooling within the area.
Speaking on the event, Ms. Ireena, Assistant Education Officer and Vice Principal of the college, expressed gratitude to the Department of Education for approving the long-pending proposal to introduce the Arts Stream. She described the transfer as an essential milestone that might profit college students aspiring to pursue research within the humanities.
The newly launched Arts Stream affords English, Geography, History, Home Science, Physical Education, and Information Technology/Tourism & Travel (IT/TT) as topics. The addition of those programs will allow college students to pursue senior secondary schooling within the humanities inside the island itself, eliminating the necessity to go away Kamorta for larger secondary research within the Arts stream.
