To mark the forty first basis day of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology (DBRAIT), a blood donation camp was organized on the institute’s Seminar Hall with the assist of Andaman & Nicobar AIDS Control Society (ANACS), the Blood Centre of G.B. Pant Hospital, and the Directorate of Health Services.
A complete of 31 items of blood have been voluntarily donated throughout the camp. The initiative was held underneath the steering of Dr. Subrata Saha, Project Director, ANACS and Director, State Blood Transfusion Council, A&N Islands.
Prior to donation, all volunteers have been examined for eligibility and counselled on the significance of blood donation. The technical group from the Blood Centre, G.B. Pant Hospital, Sri Vijaya Puram, together with ANACS officers, ensured correct screening of the donated blood for transmissible ailments.
Mr. Sanjay Malhotra, Dean (Student Affairs), DBRAIT, coordinated the occasion and made essential preparations for its easy conduct. Donor certificates have been additionally distributed to encourage and recognise the voluntary donors.
