The State Hub for Empowerment of Women, beneath the Directorate of Social Welfare, organised a capability constructing program on crimes towards girls on seventeenth October 2025. The initiative aimed to boost the information, sensitivity, and coordination amongst officers from One Stop Centres (OSC), Women Help Lines (WHL), NGOs, and social leaders.
The first session was performed by Ms. Suparna Biswas, Advocate on the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), who elaborated on varied types of crimes towards girls and the related authorized provisions.
Speaking on the event, SI Agnes Bartholoma of the Women Cell, PS Ograbranj, emphasised, “Empowerment begins with awareness and action. Every officer trained today becomes a catalyst for change in society.”
Experts from the Directorate of Health Services additionally contributed to the workshop. Ms. Rakshanda Dubey, Clinical Psychologist, performed interactive periods on counselling and communication abilities to equip area staff with instruments to deal with instances successfully.
Ms. Hemlatha, Gender Specialist at SHEW, raised consciousness on gender sensitization and inspired members to advertise gender equality and overcome societal stereotypes, underscoring their significance for the event of society.
